Walnut History
According to Chinese historical documents, China is one of the origins of walnuts and one of the largest producers after the United States. It is nicknamed "Thousands-Year Fruit".
Walnuts were brought into China by an ambassador in the Hang dynasty (more than 2,000 years ago). It is mainly produced in Northeastern China. And those from San Xi are the best.
As a traditional Chinese medication, walnuts are good for brain, kidney, keeping skin smoother and shinier, darken hair color and enhancing blood circulation.
Glazed walnuts were the popular Chinese New Year snack. As the Chinese society westernized, a lot of good traditions were forgotten. After giving her glazed walnuts out to her friends and family, Janny realized that everybody loves them, and she feels compelled to preserve this Chinese tradition.
